Style Inspiration

I have spent a lot of time recently admiring clothes and style, so happy to be able to break out my warm weather clothes and see other peoples. I like clothes, what can I say?

Here's some of my wardrobe inspirations all via my pinterest.

I'm very into the bohemian aesthetic with witchy/goth vibes added to it. Flowing fabric, feathers, crystals, leather jackets, denim vests, boots -you get the picture. I am hoping to sell some of my old clothes (how interested are you guys in a "shop my closet" store??) and thrift some new ones for the summer. I could really use a few new pairs of shorts and loose tanks.

I'm stepping away from the computer today though (instead of drooling over these clothes more) and spending the day food shopping and working outside for my boyfriend's grandmother (yard work, brush burning) and probably some hoop & waterside time.

EcoShag & Kooky Clothes

This is one of my very rare personal style posts! Are you ready for it? Honestly I wish I did more stuff like this but until I get my own camera I don't see it happening. But moving on, this style post was inspired by one of my all time favourite etsy shops, EcoShag. I got my first headscarf from the creator, Tania, in November (I think) of last year and I was absolutely smitten with it. It's beautifully made and so very pretty.

This is it:

But recently I got a second one and I am even more in love with this one than the first. Everything about it is perfect. The colour is incredible, the material is so soft (seriously, I spent forever just touching it) and it looks great. I am so excited to rock it all through spring and try out new ways to wear it.

First off, look at this packaging:

Good packaging always amps up the excitement of what's inside, don't you agree? Plus, that cord has definitely made it's way into my jewelry stash and is waiting to be recycled into something new. I love acquiring supplies form unexpected places.

Anyways! A few days after getting it I wore it out during one of my and my boyfriends walks through the Quabbin Reservoir and he was kind enough to snap a few photos of it and the rest of my kooky clothes for the day.

I got these overalls at Salvation Army for $0.99 and although they are a bit big on me they are one of my all-time favourite pieces of clothing. They're super comfy and so cool. I mean, they're covered in stars and moons. There is nothing not fabulous about that.

Style Obsession // Dreaming in Dresses

For some reason I have been infatuated with internet window shopping for dresses these past few days. Ever since eShakti sent me that lovely dress I have been wishing my closet held more beautiful feminine garments. I have dresses of course, but not nearly as many as I would like! I would love to make dress-wearing a normal part of my life.

Unfortunately, due to complete lack of money, all my dress dreaming is remaining just that -dreaming. But while I only own these dresses in my fantasies, I still wanted to share them with you. These are all from Modcloth and things that I think would make perfect additions to my wardrobe.

How lovely are those? The middle one is sold out though which is kind of a bummer. Not that I have the money for it anyways, but still.

What I Wore w/ eShakti

Recently I was contacted by this wonderful online clothing shop called eShakti about doing a product review for them. After taking a look at what they had to offer I enthusiastically accepted. They have beautiful clothing! Tons of vintage and retro inspired dresses that are to die for.

And the cool thing about eShakti is that you can have the clothes custom tailored to you! You can either pick a standard size or provide your measurements to assure that you get the perfect fit! And they will even adjust the length for you. How awesome is that? I love the idea of a company catering to the needs of each individual woman and treating them as they are -unique and completely different than any other woman.

This is the dress I chose. I picked the standard US size 8 and had the length adjusted so that it hit just above my knee. Being short means that midi skirts and dresses are not the most flattering look for me. But having it hemmed up resulted in the perfect length and a lovely look. I am so happy with it!

I mean seriously, how great is this dress? It fits like a dream, is relatively easy to get on and off, and is  pretty high quality. It's definitely one of the nicest pieces in my wardrobe. It even has pockets!

I really adore the detailing. Black and gold is one of my favourite colour combinations, and I love how retro yet bohemian looking the stitching design is. Just my taste. I was also pleasantly surprised at how much I love the pleated skirt. I like pleated skirts but I usually feel like they don't suit me. I'm glad I took the chance on this one though, a definite hit.

I know the lightning changes a lot in these photos, sorry! Not the best camera + different angles in the sun + not a whole lot of time to get perfect shots of everything.

Outfit Details
Dress // c/o eShakti
Mesh Cardigan // Thrifted
Tights // Target (old)
Boots // Dr. Marten's via Ebay
Sunglasses // Amazon
Earrings // Kintage (credit won via Kaelah's blog)
Bangles // InPink (credit won via Roxy's blog)

I searched my entire jewelry collection trying to find a necklace that matched this outfit but couldn't find a single one! My gold jewelry is seriously lacking. I really want a dainty gold necklace to go with this dress, preferably one with a rabbit or a cat. I also really like the way the dress looks sans cardigan, but I was cold enough taking these pictures as it was. February New England weather is not really fit for sleeveless dresses.

Also, I know my hair looks a mess, I am dreading it after all. The most I can do with it right now is pull it back into a ponytail so it doesn't look quite so insane.

Demon Bones

A couple shots of my Halloween costume that I wore last Friday for my Halloween/Day of the Dead party. I was a demon, naturally.

Not the best quality pictures but whatever. And I look drunk in the second photo. I wasn't, I just fail at looking like a normal human being in pictures, haha.

Leggings - Noctex

Wishlist Wednesday: F21

Thought I'd do a Wishlist Wednesday post today instead of a Wordy Wednesday. I am hoping to do the latter next week though, hopefully I should a short piece in good shape to share with you all.

Anyways, poking around Forever 21 is never a good idea. Or it is a phenomenal idea, I suppose it's how you look at it. But seeing as I'm broke most of the time, it's generally a bad idea. But regardless of whether it's a good or bad idea, here is what I have been drooling over.

I am in loooove with that skirt.

Skeleton Woman

Today is the first day that it's really felt like Autumn around here. It was chilly, not getting above 69F and I actually needed a sweater most of the day. I can't wait for the leaves to start changing and the season gets into full swing. Autumn is the best time of year. I love the summer but I'll be happy for boots and tights weather again. Like today!

Outfit Details
Skeleton T-Shirt: Thrifted
Grey Shorts: Thrifted
Tights: Wal-Mart (distressed on accident by me)
Socks: Wal-Mart
Dr. Martens Boots: Thrifted
Woman Necklace: Handmade by me
Bangles: InPink

I love this outfit and I love thinking back to when I got all this stuff and how little money I spent on it. I heavily rely on thrifting for all my clothes. In total I think this outfit cost me about $16, the boots being the most expensive at $8. The bangles were free through a credit I won in a giveaway. Talk about a total win!

Anyways, I don't know how often I'll do posts like this (I want to, I just want a nicer camera for it) but hopefully I can make time to throw in a few here or there.

Wishlist Wednesday

I've decided that Wordy Wednesday and Wishlist Wednesday will share the weekly spot and I'll just post whichever I'm feeling more when the day comes around. Because I like to be versatile with my days of the week. I don't think that makes any sense, haha. My brain is a bit frazzled. I've been doing cashier training for my new job this week and it's been a lot of work so far. I come home completely tired out. But don't worry, I'm going to try my hardest not to let it slow me down in the blogging world.

So for today's wishlist post I'm sharing some cool things I've found on Modcloth that I would love to own.

Kitty Love Style

I got the belt I ordered from Asos in the other day and am soooo happy with it -it's got cats on it! And you all know how I feel about cats! The belt buckle is even a cute little silver heart.

And why yes, I am wearing a sheer lace shirt. It's actually a tie-dye design, how awesome is that!? I got it from Target last summer and I love it. It's so soft and comfy aaaand it looks great with my new belt.

Also sporting my moonstone necklace, handmade by myself.

And there's my face! Haha :D

These are just some quick photos I snapped in my kitchen (it gets the best light) so I apologize for them not being the best. I wish  had a fancy camera and tripod to take real outfit photos. Maybe someday! Perhaps if you all buy things from this shop or this shop I could afford it. Just sayin' ;)

Oh! And if you totally want an awesome kitty belt of your own you can buy one here! It's on sale and the price is really great, definitely not something to pass up.

And before I go, here's a picture of Eli lying at my feet while I took pictures:

Happy Sunday!

F21 Wishes

I have spent waaay too much time on Forever 21 lately. I know they're cheap, but I am ridiculously broke at the moment. Anyways, I am absolutely drooling over these few things...

Isn't that necklace beautiful? I love it so much <3

InPink Bangles

A few weeks back I entered a giveaway over on this lovely lady's blog and was lucky enough to receive $40 to InPink! Needless to say, I was ecstatic.

So I went to check my mail yesterday and was even more excited to find my purchase waiting for me. if you follow my Tumblr or are a fan of my Facebook Page then you may have already seen the beautiful set of bangles I bought, but if not, here they are:
(excuse my craptastic webcam photos D:)

Aren't they beautiful? I love the mix of gold, silver and black. And I can wear them with just about anything in my wardrobe, which is always a plus. I really love wearing bangles and I am so happy to have gotten the chance to expand my collection out to include these beauties.

Here's the photo from the site for a more clear view of what they look like:

I am so happy with them :D

Anyone else get something new and wonderful lately? Do share!

Also
You may have noticed a few changes to the sidebar. I added a bigger and better list of some of my favourite blogs, complete with pretty buttons and everything. If you see this and your blog is on there, thanks so much for being awesome! Aaaaand  posted my very own button that you can grab and add to your own site.
These are the first steps I'm taking towards having a sponsoring system. I would love to see my ad on other blogs and have people advertise on mine. And my stats are getting better recently, so I know people are looking here, which makes me one super-happy lady! I love you all!

Thrifted Finds

This is the first time I've done this, but I've always wanted to share all the cool things I find while thrift store shopping. Most everything I own comes from the Salvation Army, Goodwill, flea markets, and the like. I adore everything about second-hand shopping, especially when it comes to clothes! About 85-90% of my wardrobe is completely thrifted -and no, that is not an exaggeration. For example, at this moment the shirt, pants, boots, and necklace I'm wearing I all got second-hand.

Anyways, yesterday I went on a Salvation Army trip with my boyfriend and got some seriously cool stuff that I wanted to share. Excuse the crappy phone-camera quality.

These boots are sooo cool! I'm excited to have a pair of boots that aren't black.
Excuse the sideways angle, haha. This skirt is wonderful! It's flowy, has stars and moons on it, aaaand it has pockets!
This will be great for summer. It still had the original tags on it and everything.
Pretty dressy shirt that has some shine around the neckline.
In looove with this satin crop-top <3
An awesome oh-so-90s velvet burnout dress that I had to have! It was 1/2 off too!
I am so incredibly happy with all of these pieces and I can't wait to wear them all. I was thinking of doing periodic updates with some of my other thrifted finds, things I've bought in the past but would like to share. I own some interesting things that I've found on charity shop racks. I'll also try to share every time I get new stuff.

Hope you're all having a great day!
