Tumblr Tuesday

I know, I know, I said I was going to post more and then I disappeared again. Eek! I apologize, I have just been sooo busy the past few weeks. But I do have a Tumblr Tuesday for you all, even if it is a bit late in the day. I was going to do it earlier, but homework had to be done.

Check out my tumblr page for all the other cool stuff I've been reblogging :)

Also! I've had a few more posts published on Shebudgets.com that you should all go take a look at. Every view helps me out a lot, so I would really appreciate it.

Aaaand, if you haven't seen The Hunger Games yet, get on it! It's a fabulous movie and if you're a fan of the books, it won't let you down. The acting was spot on and although not everything was exact (it never can be with these things) all the emotion is certainly there. I cried at least twice.

Thrifted Finds

This is the first time I've done this, but I've always wanted to share all the cool things I find while thrift store shopping. Most everything I own comes from the Salvation Army, Goodwill, flea markets, and the like. I adore everything about second-hand shopping, especially when it comes to clothes! About 85-90% of my wardrobe is completely thrifted -and no, that is not an exaggeration. For example, at this moment the shirt, pants, boots, and necklace I'm wearing I all got second-hand.

Anyways, yesterday I went on a Salvation Army trip with my boyfriend and got some seriously cool stuff that I wanted to share. Excuse the crappy phone-camera quality.

These boots are sooo cool! I'm excited to have a pair of boots that aren't black.
Excuse the sideways angle, haha. This skirt is wonderful! It's flowy, has stars and moons on it, aaaand it has pockets!
This will be great for summer. It still had the original tags on it and everything.
Pretty dressy shirt that has some shine around the neckline.
In looove with this satin crop-top <3
An awesome oh-so-90s velvet burnout dress that I had to have! It was 1/2 off too!
I am so incredibly happy with all of these pieces and I can't wait to wear them all. I was thinking of doing periodic updates with some of my other thrifted finds, things I've bought in the past but would like to share. I own some interesting things that I've found on charity shop racks. I'll also try to share every time I get new stuff.

Hope you're all having a great day!

I'm not dead, I swear!

It's been over a week since my last post which really isn't like me, I know. But fear not! I haven't died or anything else equally unpleasant. I've just been sick. I'm feeling a lot better today than I have the past few days. I came down with a nasty head cold and have barely had the energy to read, let alone update my blog.

But now that I'm on the path to recovery I am hoping to update more at the end of the week. It's spring break for me which means I'm enjoying some time without worrying about classes or rushing to do homework. I chose to spend the break on campus and I'm so glad I did. The place is quiet and the weather has been beautiful!

I am also looking forward to my sixth-month anniversary this week with my awesome boyfriend, which is pretty exciting. It feels like so much longer and not that long at all at the same time, haha. So you can probably expect some kind of post about that in the near future.

I also am hoping to do another Tarot post this week, so keep your eyes peeled. I haven't done one in awhile. And I missed Tumblr Tuesday again this week after vowing to try not to skip it again. Figures!

I do, however, have new posts up on shebudgets.com. If you don't know, or forgot, I write for them as a lifestyle blogger. You can see all my posts for the site here. I also have a link to the same page on my sidebar that looks like this:

These are my two newest posts that went live this week:

Take a look for me, every view helps me out a lot! Even if you're not interested in the topic I would really appreciate the support. Yes, I am asking for support. No shame, haha! I really want to make it in the writing field and I know I can't do that all on my own. Every writer needs readers.

Hope you're all having a lovely day!

Mail Jackpot!

I went to check my mail today and got a ton of stuff! I got things from both my mom and my grandfather, as well as some awesome Nightwish stuff that I won from this lovely lady on tumblr. I also got in some evil eye beads I ordered and earring findings. And the boots I ordered are in! Hurrah!

Excuse the crap quality and the fact that this is a mirror picture, haha. I wanted to post pictures of the other stuff as well but my phone camera is being finicky, maybe another time.

Also another one of my Shebudgets posts went live today. You can check it out here. Every view and read helps so please go take a look! You can keep up with all my posts on that website by checking this page. I have another post scheduled for tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled!

Plus, since I just got a bunch of new jewelry stuff, I will hopefully be making lovely new things for the shop soon. I have feathers and some neat tiger eye beads that I'm pretty excited about!

Hope you're all having a really great day.

Snow and Shopping

It has been a weird winter in Massachusetts -usually we have multiple snow storms and are constantly trudging through slush and mud from November to the end of March. But this year we have just had our second snow storm, the first being all the way back around Halloween. So now this is what outside looks like:

I'm not very find of snow to be honest. Winter is always a difficult time of year for me; I don't do well in the cold and the snow always makes it worse. Cold and wet at the same time? No thank you.

I've been trying to stay positive though, and some thrift store shopping I did the other day certainly helped. Just look at this awesomeness!

My boyfriend actually bought the plate for me, isn't is beautiful? I am in love. And I found the mug almost instantly upon venturing into the kitchen-ware section of Salvation Army. I love it so much! It really is slanted like that. I can't wait to try and drink tea from it. I'll probably dump it on myself a few times, haha.

I also dyed my hair! Dying my hair or getting a new cut/style always helps me feel better. I didn't do a drastic colour change though, just a nice strawberry blonde. Few people have actually even noticed I did anything to it.

And finally, the last bit of my therapy... new stones! As the witchy type, I love going to the New Age shop the next town over and picking through their tumbled stones. Yesterday I bought a lapis lazuli and howlite.

The picture really doesn't do them justice. The energies attached to each are good and they helped me calm down yesterday when I was feeling moody and over-stressed. I'm happy with them.

So tell me, do any of you like winter/snow? Leave me a comment :)
