I Am Grateful 5/16

Today has been better than yesterday. I slept in a little later than I wanted to but I woke up in a better mood.  Plus the sun has been out all day and it has gone back up to the 70s instead of the 50s like the last few days. Warm weather and sunshine does wonders for my mental state. Unfortunately, my boyfriend is not feeling well today though. I hope that he does soon so that we can both feel good on these beautiful spring days.

To try to kick my depressive mood in the butt I decided that today would be a good day to take the time to type out the things I am grateful for lately. When I hit a bump in my mental stability I tend to forget to be thankful for all that I have. I am trying to fix that.

Lately I am grateful for...

+Lovely blogger friends: Lottie, Angie, Hollie, & Megan -you are all so wonderful and I'm so glad to have met you. I wish we all lived close by so that we could gather for tea and craft pow wow.
+Chamomile tea, it's the only way I have been able to fall asleep lately.
+The Vampire Diaries. Sounds silly I know, but watching it helps me forget about being upset.
+My No Doubt Pandora station. Nothing like No Doubt, Sugar Ray, and The Cranberries to put a smile on your face.

Today has been a very productive day for me. I cleaned a good portion of the apartment -cleaned floors, vacuumed, washed dishes, cleaned the bathtub, emptied the trash, etc. I feel good about it. I also did my workout, poked around the jobosphere looking for some writing gigs, and have studied some of my Spanish. And the day isn't even over yet!

  1. <3 Thank you for mentioning me, friend, and I couldn't agree more. I also absolutely love that the other ladies you mentioned are either friends of mine, or bloggers whom I highly admire that don't quite know me yet. I admire you ALL, though. <3

    Being grateful for a favorite TV series doesn't sound silly, whatsoever! I've found a wonderful pick-me-up in series', especially those that are more in-depth like Game of Thrones, or even animated yet in-depth like Legend of Korra. On the other hand, pure fluff is also wonderful. Same with reading, or watching a movie.

    I am grateful, so grateful, for Jen. For Guild Wars 2. For my blog. For my amazing friends. For TEA! For understanding myself, and listening when my body is speaking up, for instance lately my medication hasn't been working and I've pin pointed that, instead of thinking "what is wrong with me?"

    I am grateful for so much. Oh! Have you tried Happify? I'll be honest, it's a useful tool. (I don't get anything for recommending them, etc. I'm just really loving their site!)

  2. I'm glad you're feeling a bit more cheery. Sunshine and warm weather definitely can do wonders to lift one's spirits. Do something fun for yourself this weekend!

    I'm thankful for the beautiful weather we've been having this week too. I've been enjoying long walks with my pups in the sunshine. :)

    I wished, too, we all lived closer! It would be such a huge treat to spend time together in person!

    I always forget how helpful gratitude is in helping to ground oneself. Right now, I'm grateful it's the Friday of a long weekend, hooray!

  4. Oh lady, I wish we lived closer together too! I would love to chat and have some tea together.

    I love the idea of when we are feeling low to remember what we are grateful for, right now I am very grateful for my health, and my husband. Through all the craziness that has been going on lately, he is always there to help me through it. I hope you have an amazing weekend, and get to soak in some sunshine! xo
