Blogging Groove

I seem to have gotten my blogging groove back and I'm so excited to be posting on a regular basis. I've pretty much abandoned how I was doing things before (although I might bring back tea time, maybe as a once a month feature) but I am enjoying this much better. I feel like I've taken the chains off my content and am completely comfortable posting about whatever comes to mind. I hope that you guys enjoy this new way of doing things as well. It's by no means "professional" but that's not the kind of blogger I want to be anyways. I thought it was for awhile but it really just doesn't fit with the kind of person I am.

Anyways, I have a lot of posts planned, some kind of ramble-y, about pretty much everything I've been thinking about lately. My brain was in a cage before and I've let it out and now my mind is overflowing with things I want to share in this space.

So yeah, hang around if you're interested in what the inside of my head look like these days.

Also enjoy this picture of Eli.

Cat Spam Part II

Did you like looking at pictures of Eli? Yes? Well then you're in luck...

I photoshopped out a bunch of the dust on is face but you can still see some of it. I'm honestly not sure how he manages to cover himself in so much of it.

Happy Birthday Eli!

Alright, so I'll be honest, I don't know technically what day Eli was born. I got him last June and the people who had him before said he was 11 months old. Which puts his birthday sometime in July. And since my birthday is in July and my boyfriend's is a week after mine we've decided to celebrate Eli's during the in between days.

This year he is 2 years old!

Browse all Eli/cat related posts here.

I love this cat more than I have ever loved any animal, and let me tell you that is saying a lot. I get very attached to animals very quickly. Eli has been like a friend to me since I got him. He is a big bundle of love (emphasis on the big) and I love waking up to him at my feet, teasing him with feathers, chasing him around the house, and watching him try to talk to the birds outside.

I look forward to spending many many years to come with this fur-ball.

***

I would also like to take the time to make mention of a little kitten name Anubis who could really use everyone's help. He is just a little kitten who is sick and needs some help paying for his vet bills. His owner, Rachel, is having a 25% off sale in both her shops (Hat Shop | Art Shop) for the next week -all proceeds will go to making sure that Anubis is taken care of.

I know it would mean a lot to both of them if a few people bought something to help them out. This little kitten deserves a shot at a happy and healthy life.

Caturday!

It's the last Caturday of March! So enjoy some pictures of my kitty, Eli.

Isn't he the sweetest? He's such a big lovebug. As well as a big weirdo. He's taken to climbing onto the edge of the shower while it's on and trying to lick the water off my legs. Talk about strange, haha.

Reasons Why I Love My Cat

Eli + his feather toy #cat #mybabykitty

I adore my cat, Eli. Cat lady? Ooooh yesss, most definitely. I can't help it -he's a big bundle of furry love. I have had him since June and together we have moved around a lot already, but he is a good sport about it. He adjusts to new houses quickly and goes from hiding under the couch to exploring in about a half an hour.

So I thought I would take today to comprise a small list of all the reasons I love Eli.

He is very friendly and loves attention.
He lays funny (with his legs sticking out at a weird angle -he looks like a chicken)
He goes mental for catnip and it's funny to watch.
He makes funny noises in his sleep.
He likes to sleep at the foot of the bed and keep my toes warm.
He will jump pretty high for a toy he wants.
He doesn't eat any food except for his own.
He rolls around a lot, especially when trying to open something.
He purrs all the time.
He meows at me a lot -I think he's trying to tell me stories.
He follows me around the house.
He is fascinated by running water.
He makes funny faces when he is confused,.

There are a ton more I'm sure, haha. He is such a crazy cat and I couldn't be happier with him. He gets a ton of attention and affection, that's for sure.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday!

P.S. I have a lot of fun posts coming up, including a dress review from a really awesome clothing site, some info on how you can get free nailpolish, and a recipe to make your own BBQ chips! Excited? I am. :)

Caturday

Weekly dose of cats, because cats :D

Eli & my mom's cat Smokey, new best friends :)

Eli's pretty eyes, complete with instagram effect, haha.

Smokey's close-up.

Having a serious catversation with Eli.

Giving Smokey lots of love.
I can't wait to live somewhere I can have my baby with me again, but for the meantime he seems pretty happy at my mom's house. Him and Smokey get along well and I visit him several times a week. He is always happy to see me and I love getting to cuddle with him for a few hours.

Happy Caturday everyone!

Sleepy Eli

Pictures I took yesterday because Eli just looked so adorable. He was right next to me on the couch and his cuteness was super distracting while I was trying to do homework.

Aaaaand this was him later on in the day. He really likes to sit in boxes.

Kitty Love Style

I got the belt I ordered from Asos in the other day and am soooo happy with it -it's got cats on it! And you all know how I feel about cats! The belt buckle is even a cute little silver heart.

And why yes, I am wearing a sheer lace shirt. It's actually a tie-dye design, how awesome is that!? I got it from Target last summer and I love it. It's so soft and comfy aaaand it looks great with my new belt.

Also sporting my moonstone necklace, handmade by myself.

And there's my face! Haha :D

These are just some quick photos I snapped in my kitchen (it gets the best light) so I apologize for them not being the best. I wish  had a fancy camera and tripod to take real outfit photos. Maybe someday! Perhaps if you all buy things from this shop or this shop I could afford it. Just sayin' ;)

Oh! And if you totally want an awesome kitty belt of your own you can buy one here! It's on sale and the price is really great, definitely not something to pass up.

And before I go, here's a picture of Eli lying at my feet while I took pictures:

Happy Sunday!

Reasons Why Being A Cat Would Be Awesome

Found here.

Okay, so cats are awesome. You all know this. I hope. I am a cat lady through and through, destined to be that senile old woman next door with ten cats, wearing a crazy-pattern shawl and offering everyone tea. It's a future I have come to terms with and am actually looking forward to. I'll probably also demand everyone that come over have their cards read. Because I'm like that.

Anyways, I digress.

Soooo, being a cat would be awesome, because cats are awesome. It's simple logic. Think about it.

Cats don't have to go to school or work.
Or pay bills.
Or wear clothes.
They get to sleep all day.
They get pet a lot.
And are generally fawned over.
They're amused by simple things.
They're cuuuuute!
They're independent as far as pets go.
They have pretty eyes.
They can climb to really high places.

Seriously, just look at all those sweet benefits! I'm not saying I don't like being human (it's pretty cool, yeah?) but I would certainly not complain if I was reincarnated as a fluffy feline.

P.S. This is my cute kittie, Eli:

A Feline Friend: Hello Eli!

It's only the third of the month and one of my June Goals is already complete! :D My boyfriend and I now have  an adorable cat sharing our apartment with us and I couldn't be happier!

Meet Eli:

He's just staring at the ceiling in that photo, something that he does a lot, haha. Cat's are weird. He's super cute and can you believe he's not even a year old yet! He's pretty big for his age, but then again, he is half maine coon. His name was Shadow originally but he doesn't respond to it and I think he looks much more like an Eli anyways.

Surprisingly, it didn't take long for him to warm up to us. He only hid for about a half and hour when we brought him home and then he was out from under the bed and exploring the apartment. He loves to be pet and will rub against your legs until you show him some love. He also rubs against everything else trying to get pet as well -doors, boxes, the couch, anything. I am in love with him already.

Also!
I just want to make quick note of the fact that this is my 100th post! Hurrah! -throws confetti in the air- Or at least I would throw confetti is I had any, although we don't have a vacuum yet which could make the clean up (of the carpet) pretty difficult.

I hope everyone has had a good Sunday. I've spent most of mine lounging around with Eli and a few friends. It's been relaxing, although now I have to try to be productive. Jobs will not find themselves!
