July in Review

Can you believe it's already the end of July? That means I've only got a month left of my summer vacation before classes start up again. I'm not too sure how I feel about that to be honest. I have enjoyed being a student for the past four years but I'm ready to wrap up the experience. I want to move on to bigger and better things in my life. Thankfully I've only got this coming semester left and then I'm done.

Anyways, you might remember that I made a July Goals post in the beginning of the month. Since tomorrow is the first day of August I thought today would be a great time to go over the list and what I've done this past month.

My July goals were...
Get through the next pivotal scene in my novel, Runaway.
Dye my hair blond.
Keep looking for a part time job and get lucky.
Try my hand at watercolours.
Make an art piece or two for the shop.
Meditate more.
Hoop a few times a week.
List more items in my thrift shop.

Look at all the stuff I crossed off the list! It's been a good month. I haven't written as much in my novel as I would have liked, but I did get through an important scene which feels good. I also dyed my hair. It's not as blonde as I would have liked, but after two attempts I called it quits. It's now a nice strawberry blonde with white-blonde roots from spending a lot of time in the sun.

I did get lucky in finding a part time job! I will be working front end at Hannaford (grocery store) which is not really that exciting, but it's a job so I'm happy about it. I will also be working with a good friend of mien so  have that to look forward to.

I also did attempt a watercolour but I'm really bad at it. I know it takes practice, but I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to work on it. Or motivation. On the same note I also didn't make art pieces for the shop, just jewelry. Booo. I really need to get on this.

I did meditate a bit more, usually before bed. It helps clear out my mind and I sleep better. I really need to make a more stable habit of it though.

Hooping didn't happen as much as I would have liked. A good portion of July was super-hot though so hooping was not something I wanted to be doing. Me and Sue did go out a couple times though on a cool night and get our hoop on, so it wasn't a complete loss.

Aaaaand I certainly did list some more items in my thrift shop! You should all go check it out if you're into cool clothes for good prices. And when I say "good" I mean really cheap. It's all pretty good quality stuff as well.

In retrospect, great month! I didn't cross off everything but I got most of it! And I did lots of other cool things such as go to Warped Tour, see The Devil's Carnival (with pre-show Boston exploring!), get pet rats, start an art journal, and practice my tarot reading.

Check back for my August goal list which should be up in a day or two.

How was everyone else's July? I'd love to know.
